About Disability Trust AI
Our Mission
Disability Trust AI exists for one reason: to help people who are navigating the disability benefits system feel less lost. We believe that everyone deserves access to clear, honest, plain-language information about programs like Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), VA disability benefits, and state disability programs — without needing to decode government jargon or pay for basic answers.
Too many people find out about disability benefits at the worst possible time: when a health condition has already disrupted their ability to work, their income, and their daily life. At that moment, the last thing anyone needs is a confusing website full of legal terminology and dead-end links. That is the problem we are here to solve.
What We Do
We study publicly available guidance from the Social Security Administration, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and state agencies, and translate it into resources that real people can actually understand and use. Our tools include:
- An eligibility snapshot tool that helps you organize key facts about your situation before you speak with a benefits representative, attorney, or government agency. It runs entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server or stored in a database.
- An AI-powered educational helper that can answer general questions about disability benefits concepts, timelines, documentation requirements, and appeals processes in plain language. It does not give legal advice or predict outcomes.
- Comprehensive written guides like our SSDI Complete Guide that walk through eligibility rules, the application process, common reasons for denial, the appeals system, and work incentives — all verified against official sources and updated regularly.
What We Are Not
Transparency matters to us, so we want to be direct about our limitations:
- We are not the Social Security Administration, the Department of Veterans Affairs, or any government agency.
- We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice.
- We are not a medical office and do not provide medical advice.
- We cannot file claims, represent you in hearings, or communicate with agencies on your behalf.
- We cannot determine your eligibility, predict approval odds, or estimate benefit amounts for your specific case.
We are an independent educational resource. Think of us as a helpful starting point — a place to learn the basics, figure out what questions to ask, and feel more prepared before you take your next real-world step with the agencies and professionals who make actual decisions.
Our Values
- Honesty over hype. We will never exaggerate what our tools can do. We will never claim to predict outcomes or replace professional advice. If we do not know something, we say so.
- Privacy by design. Our eligibility snapshot runs in your browser with zero server storage. Our AI helper does not collect names, Social Security numbers, or other personally identifiable information. We strongly discourage users from sharing sensitive details in any of our tools.
- Free access. Our core educational tools are free and will stay free. We believe that understanding your options should not cost money, especially when you are already dealing with the financial stress of a health condition.
- Accuracy and accountability. We verify dollar figures, timelines, and procedural details against official sources like ssa.gov and va.gov. When rules change, we update our content and note the date of the update.
